Valarie Davis
A Sylvania, G.A.
native, Valarie graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business
Administration in Finance from The University of Georgia.
In 2006, at Georgia Southern University, she completed the
required accounting courses for the CPA Exam. While
at Georgia Southern University, Valarie attended the Swiss
Finance Academy in Boston, MA and was a candidate
nominee and participant in the Smith & Howard, Hancock,
Askew and BDO Seidman’s Leadership Institute in Atlanta,
Georgia.
Valarie is a staff accountant
in our tax department. Besides tax code, her other
interests include, traveling, cooking and spending time
with family and friends.
Elaine Johnson
Elaine Johnson was born and
raised in Flushing, Michigan and has just moved to South
Carolina, following her daughter who is teaching here.
Previously, she has lived in Biloxi, Mississippi, Omaha,
Nebraska and on the island of Luzon in the Philippines.
Elaine attended Baker College in Flint, Michigan where she
graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Business Administration,
and has worked for small businesses for many years.
Elaine loves to be outdoors hiking with her terrier mix
or gardening, and has her work cut out for her this year
with a whole new yard to landscape. Other favorite
activities include reading and knitting.
Elaine will be working as
a bookkeeper in our small business department.
Wright Meyer
Wright Meyer will be working
as part of our tax staff for the 2007 tax season.
He will pursue his CPA designation and begin a full time
audit position in Charlotte, NC with one of the “Big Four”
firms this summer.
A Tarheel born and bred in
Chapel Hill, NC, Wright graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with
a BA in Economics and International Studies with Honors.
He served in the United States Peace Corps in Haiti as a
volunteer management and accounting consultant to rural
savings and loan cooperatives. Wright came to Columbia
in 2003 and completed USC’s International Master of Business
Administration and Master of Accounting programs.
He is an avid singer, camper, and traveler.
Chris Kakaras
Chris Kakaras was born in
Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Greenville, SC. Prior
to moving to Columbia, Chris graduated in 2006 from Clemson
University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Financial
Management with a concentration in Real Estate and a minor
in Communications. While in school, Chris was very involved
with Young Life and Clemson FCA. He also loves all
types of sports and is an avid Clemson football enthusiast.
Chris is a member of our tax
staff.
Daniel Sharpe
Daniel Sharpe joined Bauknight,
Pietras & Stormer in January of 2007 as a Co-op and will
be working with the tax staff through April. He currently
holds junior standing at Clemson University and is majoring
in Financial Management with an Accounting minor. Daniel
has been a member of either the President's or Dean's list
in each of his five semesters at Clemson and was recently
inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society.
He is a sports fan and loves basketball, football, and long-distance
running. His greatest accomplishment so far was raising
$5000 and running 26.2 miles for a leukemia patient with
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.
Eddie Brooks
Eddie Brooks was born in Spartanburg,
SC and raised in Woodruff. He attends The University of
South Carolina where he majors in history and has a secondary
education minor. Eddie works part time as our
office courier.
Eddie enjoys working on his
family farm weekends and summers.
